Photographs of The 70th Anniversary of the forming of the Commandos 26/27th June 2010

The Commando Veterans Association held their 70th Anniversary at the Commando Memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire on the 26th and 27th June 2010.The Service on Sunday 27th  June 2010 was taken by Commando Reverand,Captain George Parsons ( No 2 Cdo ).National  Secretary of the Commando Veterans Association Geoff Murray was in attendance on both days and a visit was also made by Scottish singer and TV Celebrity Isla St Clair who is a fully paid up member of the Veterans Association.Isla's uncle  Sandy was in the Commando's during WW11 and fought in Norway,Dieppe,Sicily and mainland Italy before being killed on D - Day 6th June 1944 landing on Sword Beach with No.3 Command

We may feel sure that nothing of which we have knowledge or record has ever been done by mortal men which surpasses the splendour and daring of their feats in arms.Truly we may say of them...when shall their glory fade?"
